NTSB report: No mechanical reason for 2009 crash

GARDNERVILLE, Nev. (AP) – A National Transportation Safety Board report says investigators couldn’t find a mechanical reason for a May 2009 plane crash in Douglas County that killed all five people aboard.

The report released Friday says the Beechcraft BE 95 crashed after the pilot, 58-year-old Gary Annas, pulled up suddenly after flying over Carson Valley rooftops.

It says Annas then made a sudden steep climbing left turn, stopped at the top and then dropped toward the ground nose first.

An examination of the wreckage showed both engines were working when the crash happened. All control cables were where they were supposed to be.

Also killed in the crash were 43-year-old Paul Dallas, of Minden; 40-year-old Leia Denner and 30-year-old Brent Fahey, both of Gardnerville; and 30-year-old Beau McGrath, of Kirkwood, Calif.
